Jesus is the answer to all we need.
Matthew 2:1-12

Information about the Wise Men:
•How many were there? The bible doesn’t tell us.
•They were not kings – they were called Magi (wise).
•They were aware of what the prophets said.
•They were seeking Jesus.
•Other religious leaders didn’t go with them.
•Came to worship Jesus with gifts.

There are several differences between the shepherds and the wise men:
•Shepherds were outsiders, looked down upon. Wise men were educated.
•Shepherds lived in the fields. Wise men were wealthy.
•Shepherds were close by. The wise men were farther away.
•Shepherds were Jewish. The wise men were gentiles.
The significance in their differences is that Jesus was sent for all people.

Their gifts had meaning:
Gold:was the metal of kings. It acknowledged His right to rule.
Frankincense:Priest used it to worship God. Point to Jesus as our Priest.
Myrrh:gift of death (used in embalming). Jesus knew His mission was to come and die.

What would your life look like with more Jesus?
